fire?
Ans :- The poet hold with those who favour fire because he thinks that he know the desire and he have experienced that it could only be controlled by a firm determination and sterling faith. But if it gets out of control it gives birth to greed, hatred and so many other ill thoughts which can easily destroy the world.
2. What do you think would be enough to destroy
the world? Can fire and ice contribute?
Ans: - I agree with the poet that both fire and ice which has used here metaphorically by the poet as desire and hatred are capable to destroy the world. If we closely examine the world event as World Wars or any other war, it is obvious that both can contribute to destroy the world.
3. How will the world end twice?
Ans :- The
world will end twice by the hatred which is now growing more and more in
human heart.
4. How has Frost brought out the contrasting ideas
in the poem?
Ans :- Frost presents two opposite ideas in this poem-desire and hatred. Desire drives us to seek something intensely, so it has been compared to fire. Just as the coldness of ice can blow our senses, so the hatred of our hearts can numb our kindness. In this way, Frost has brought out the contrasting ideas in the poem.
5. How does the poet caution the common man?
Ans :- The poet cautions the common man by giving two reasons for the end of the world. The poet tells that both desire and hatred can end the world.
